Stephen Pita

Stephen D. Pita, 68, of Slatington, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in his home.   He was the husband of Patricia J. (Barsh) Pita, whom he married February 13, 2010.   Born in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Steve and Julia (Labosky) Pita.    Stephen was a graduate of Shamokin High School, Class of 1970.    He served his country honorably and proudly in the US Coast Guard for 30 years with a rank of C W 0-4/W4.   Stephen was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Slatington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Nicholas Pita and wife Caitlyn of Sagon, PA, Kaitlyn and husband Robert Nicolosi of FL, Cathie and husband Colin Bower of Walnutport &  Nathaniel Pita, 4 Grandsons.  He was pre-deceased by a brother Walter Pita.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington St, Slatington.   No Calling hours, burial Tuesday October 13, 10AM at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.   Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to Assumption BVM Memorial Fund.
