Vernon C. Horn

Vernon C. Horn, 90, of Slatington, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at St. Luke’s Carbon Campus.   He was the husband of Margaret M. (Peifer) Horn, whom he married September 19, 1970.
Born in Slatington on September 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Alfred F. and Clara A. (Wanamaker) Horn.   Vernon served his country honorably and proudly as a member of the US Army during the Korean War.    He worked as a laborer for many years for the former Keystone Lamp Factory in Slatington.    Vernon was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Slatington, a life member of the American Legion Post, 16, Slatington, the Emerald Fire Co., the Slatington Skeet Club, and the Walnutport VFW.

In addition to his wife Margaret, he is survived by sons: Chad A. Horn and wife Michele L. of Slatington, Brad L. Horn and wife Jamie L. of Slatington; grandchildren: Brad, Alicia; brother: Eugene Horn of Allentown; sister: Marie Roth of Allentown.  He was predeceased by 10 brothers and 4 sisters.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Slatedale Cemetery, 8648 Brown St, Slatedale PA.    No calling hours.   Arrangements are under the direction of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
