Wescoe C. Eckhart, of Walnutport, passed away Saturday morning, May 28, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospice Unit, Allentown. He turned 95 this past Tuesday. He was the husband of Delores C. (Strohl) Green Eckhart whom he married on November 11, 2001, and the late Pauline (Meckes) Eckhart. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Charles and Edna (Hoffman) Eckhart. Wes served our country honorably and proudly in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for Tarkett for 34 years, retiring as a floor inspector. Wes was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7215, Walnutport.
In addition to his wife Delores, he is survived by daughters: Gail Smith of Palmerton, Rita Snyder of Walnutport, Brenda and husband Clayton Fronheiser of Palmerton, Ruby Berger of Palmerton; son: Jeffrey Eckhart of Lehighton; step-children: Leonard Green and wife Linda of Lehighton, Candace and husband Charles Doncsecz of Emmaus, Timothy Green of Whitehall, Susan and husband Scott Erb of Slatedale; 12 Grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a step-daughter: Holly Paxson (Robert), brother, Warren Eckhart and a sister, Ethel Evans.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
